The Museum participates in the "Greece 2021" initiative, offering free entry to the public on the 21st of each month until the end of the festive year 2021. This action is the initiative of the "Greece 2021" Committee celebrating the landmark anniversary of 200 years since the Greek Revolution of 1821.
 

The Greeks of 1821 and the ancient monuments

The antiquities of the Acropolis and the surrounding area were part of the daily life of the people who lived during the Revolution of 1821. In the following video, twenty paintings by European artists depict the experiential relationship of the inhabitants of 19th century Athens with the remnants of their city's past.
